  1. Abortion care is banned in Arkansas with minimal exceptions.
  2. Pregnancy Help Clinics in Arkansas DO NOT provide or refer for abortion care.
  3. HIPAA Privacy Protections may not apply to Pregnancy Help Clinics. Even though many pregnancy help clinics in Arkansas claim to follow HIPAA or tell clients to take complaints to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, they do not appear to qualify as covered entities under HIPAA, which legally protects personal health information.In the last year, state attorneys general have been asked to investigate pregnancy help centers making these claims, including Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin.
  4. Before providing your personal health information to a clinic in Arkansas for a pregnancy test, ultrasound, maternal health care, reproductive health care, STI testing, abortion information, miscarriage support, or pregnancy counseling, ask if it is legally required to comply with HIPAA and protect your personal health information.
